What is HALO?
This device from Sciton is the world’s first Hybrid Fractional Laser (HFL), and it can treat a variety of blemishes. The hybrid part of the fractional laser means that patients will experience less downtime than with a regular fractional laser treatment. HALO combines ablative and non-ablative wavelengths, so you’ll get great results with minimal downtime.
Most patients only require downtime of two days for healthy, glowing skin. Treatments for acne scarring, deep wrinkles, and uneven texture may require a longer period of downtime; up to one week. When you leave our office, we will provide you with a post-treatment kit that is designed to speed up the recovery time, as well as increase collagen and elastin.
This treatment is perfect for men who have spent a lot of time outdoors, causing their skin to become damaged due to the environment. You may have started to notice brown spots where your skin was once clear, and these can be caused by sun exposure and an active lifestyle. A HALO treatment can address:
- Sun damage (brown spots)
- Fine lines and wrinkles
- Uneven skin tone
- Scars
- Loose skin
What is BBL?
BBL, also known as Broadband Light therapy, is a treatment that can be combined with HALO or delivered on its own. This is another treatment that can reverse years of sun damage, which is something that is very common. This treatment uses light energy to heat up your skin, which causes blemishes to disappear. New collagen is produced thanks to the heat, which is how you skin is able to repair itself.
BBL is effective at treating some of the same imperfections that HALO treatment, but it also works well with vascular lesions. If you have noticed broken blood vessels or spider veins on your face, a BBL treatment may be right for you.
