What is SKINTYTE?
A revolutionary light therapy device to reduce volume loss and promote elasticity in the skin. As we age, skin loses its natural ability to create collagen, and in turn, our skin doesn’t have that firm and supple appearance any longer. By bulk heating the dermis through light, we have the ability to activate your own body’s ability to create collagen which will result in a firmer and tighter appearance to the skin.
HOW does it work?
The SkinTyte™ procedure utilizes a broadband of light energy to deeply heat dermal collagen. This process promotes the contraction of collagen in the reticular dermis through infrared heat, resulting in tighter and more youthful skin.
Who is SkinTyte for?
SkinTyte™ treatments are safe for all skin types and can be performed on any area of the body where an improvement in skin firmness is desired. Popular areas include the face, neck and abdomen. Your skin specialist will discuss the treatment options that are best for you during your consultation.
Is it painful due to the heat?
The SkinTyte™ light energy is delivered in a sequence of rapid, gentle pulses. There is no need for a topical anesthetic and treatment is very tolerable. A series of pulses will be repeated over the treatment area to ensure the best results. While the face and neck can typically be treated within 30 minutes, actual time will depend on the area that is treated. There is no pain associated with SkinTyte, while most patients report the feeling being similar to a hot stone massage!
Post Treatment
You may experience mild redness in the treated area immediately after, and this should return to normal within minutes to hours. Since the SkinTyte™ procedure is non-invasive, there is no downtime and you can, therefore, resume regular activities immediately after treatment. You can also apply makeup and sunscreen after each session.
In general, the effects of the treatment will take three months to appear. Following your sixth and last treatment, your collagen and elastin will begin strengthening and lifting the skin. Quarterly maintenance is recommended to maintain your results, and this can be easily remembered by having seasonal treatments; spring, summer, fall, and winter.
